Figma Troubleshooting Guide

Step 1: Identify your Figma Version

  • Web Browser Version

    • Proceed to Step 2.

  • Desktop App Version

    • Proceed to Step 4.


Step 2: Did a 404 error or memory alert come up on the Web Browser Version?

  • Yes:

    • 404 Error:

      1. Check to make sure you have the correct URL.

      2. Refresh the page.

    • Memory Alert:

      1. Reduce the overall memory of the Figma file.

      2. Check your system settings and clear up space for any files you no longer need.

  • No:

    1. Close any extra tabs you have open.

    2. Refresh the page.

    3. Close the browser window then reopen a new browser window.

Step 3: Internet Connection Check

Ensure your internet connection is stable. Slower internet bandwidth can affect Figma’s functionality.

Step 4: For Desktop App Version, are you able to click on any of the buttons or menus within the app?

  • Yes:

    1. Go to the Main Menu.

    2. Navigate to Plugins and/or Preferences.

    3. Disable extra features you are not using.

    4. Close any additional applications you may have running in the background.

  • No:

    1. Close any additional applications running in the background.

    2. Force-quit Figma.

    3. Restart Figma.
