We understand the tension between wanting change and feeling stretched thin—trying to bridge the gap between your current job and a more fulfilling career while navigating an unpredictable economy.
We also know that real career change takes effort. That’s why Merit America programs are challenging by design, but intentionally supported. Most learners spend about 15–25 hours per week on coursework, live sessions, and assignments. The structure is built to meet you where you are, so you’re never expected to figure it out—or push through—on your own.
Merit America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting your potential and helping you move forward with confidence. From day one, you’re supported by a team that’s invested in your success:
Program Career Coach – Your primary coach throughout the program, helping you stay accountable, build professional and job search skills, and navigate challenges with clarity.
Technical Advisors (in select programs) – Support for navigating challenging coursework and technical concepts.
Community & Events Team – Access to virtual events and additional resources, including mental health sessions, financial guidance, and community referrals.
Alumni Career Coaches – Continued coaching support after program completion as you pursue opportunities, prepare for interviews, negotiate offers, or navigate future career transitions.
Alumni Network – Join a nationwide community of 15,000+ Merit America alumni who’ve been where you are and are now building new careers.
In short: if you put in the work, you’ll receive the support you need. According to our 2024 Alumni Wage Analysis, the majority of alumni who provide outcome data report an average annual wage gain of nearly $21,000 three or more months after completing the program—raising their average pre-program salary from $27,800 to $48,500.
Merit America exists because we believe everyone with the drive to succeed deserves a real chance to meet their potential—and that with the right structure, support, and guidance, meaningful career change is possible.
