πŸ“Œ Operating System Qwiklabs

This will be your first encounter with Qwiklabs. Qwiklabs is a learning platform that Coursera uses to provide hands-on practice with admin commands, troubleshooting systems, terminal commands, and much more!

It operates on a cloud environment (VM machines) so there's no need for learners to purchase or install software in order to practice these skills. Everything is done in the cloud and learners are free to experiment without the risk of breaking anything in their system.

However, it is subject to bugs and glitches that are commonly present with online platforms. Be sure to refer and familiarize yourselves with the Qwiklabs FAQ's guide, located in the knowledge base, to troubleshoot the problems that you may encounter. Nevertheless, a lot of the problems stem from user error! So make sure to follow and understand the steps in the lab!

πŸ“Œ Creating a Folder with Linux

Here you will create a Folder using Linux. The main difference with this lab is that it opens the Terminal within the Window after clicking on "Start Lab".

Again, follow the instruction in the lab then click on "Check my progress" to see if you accomplished the task.

Then close the lab by clicking on "End Lab" at the very bottom to record your score.

πŸ“Œ Creating a Folder with Windows

In this lab, you will create a Folder using Windows. When you click on the "Start Lab" the "Open Windows VM" button will appear. When you press this button it will open up the Windows VM machine in another tab or window.

Follow the instructions on how to create a folder in the lab and be sure to do the task in the VM machine that opened up instead of your actual Desktop.

After making a folder, click on "Check my progress" to see if you've done the task correctly. Then scroll to the bottom and click on "End lab" to record your score.
