A man compares the cost of a college degree versus a tech bootcamp.

Let’s not beat around the bush. Higher education is expensive.

The average cost of college in the United States is $38,270 per year, including books, supplies, and daily living expenses. Likewise, bootcamps like General Assembly’s UX Design program cost $16,450.

While online courses have existed for decades as a popular, more cost-effective option, without professional development, career changers are left without a way to apply their knowledge or create a professional trajectory built on their strengths.

So what options are you left with when:

  • college is too long and expensive

  • full-time bootcamp programs don’t offer the flexibility you need

  • and online courses don’t have the structure or support to translate learning into a new job?

This is the driving force behind Merit America: to make in-demand careers accessible by combining the best of online learning with world-class coaching and support.

To achieve that, it all starts with making the opportunity to pursue online job training affordable. In this article, we’ll explore how you can afford Merit America without breaking the bank.

How much does Merit America cost?

It’s simple – anyone willing to work hard for their career goals deserves the opportunity to succeed! It’s why we offer a variety of payment options to cover Merit America’s $5700 program costs.

Recognizing that $5,700 is a significant investment, we offer four options to help cover the cost of our program.

  1. Pay upfront in full

  2. Participate in an employer partner sponsorship program

  3. Opt for $0 down with Ascent Funding’s Zero Percent Loan

  4. Opportunity For All

Let’s cover each option.

Option 1. Pay for the Program Upfront

Have you set aside funds in anticipation of pursuing your education? Thinking about joining a program like Merit America?

Regardless of your circumstances, if you have the financial means to pay for Merit America upfront, you’ll have the option to choose upfront payments as your preferred method when you join the program.

Option 2. Employer Sponsorship

Many employers and organizations recognize the value of investing in their employee’s professional development and may cover some or all of the costs for programs like Merit America.

Companies such as Amazon, for example, have established initiatives to support their workforce in acquiring new skills and advancing their careers through educational sponsorships. These benefits can significantly reduce the financial burden on learners, making it easier to pursue career advancement opportunities.

If you’re considering Merit America, it’s worth having a conversation with your employer to explore whether they offer sponsorship or tuition reimbursement for job training programs. By taking advantage of these opportunities, you can potentially offset or even eliminate the program’s cost, making it a smart and career-enhancing move.
