Merit America’s Semiconductor & Advanced Manufacturing program helps you build the skills needed to launch a career in a fast-growing, high-tech industry through a combination of online learning, hands-on lab experience, and career coaching.

You’ll develop foundational skills used across semiconductor manufacturing and advanced production environments, including:

  • Safety protocols and OSHA compliance

  • Cleanroom procedures and PPE best practices

  • Quality control and precision measurement

  • Manufacturing processes and production workflows

  • Maintenance awareness, including basic electrical and pneumatic systems

To apply these skills in a real-world setting, you’ll participate in three full-day, in-person lab sessions in Austin, TX. These labs provide hands-on experience with the tools, equipment, and processes used on the factory floor, including electronics, soldering, equipment troubleshooting, and production workflows.

Throughout the program, you’ll also work with a career coach who supports you in building professional skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—and helps you prepare for your job search.

Merit America alumni from this program are prepared for entry-level roles such as Manufacturing Technician, Production Specialist, Quality Control Technician, Equipment Technician, Wafer Fabrication Technician, and Test Technician.
