Merit America’s Human Resources Career Track is designed to give you the skills and support you need to launch a successful career in HR—no prior experience required. As an official Certification Preparation Provider with HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®), our program prepares you to sit for the Associate Professional in Human Resources® (aPHR®) certification exam, a credential that demonstrates your knowledge of core HR principles and helps you stand out in today’s competitive job market.
Over 18 weeks, you’ll gain hands-on experience in key HR functions like talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and legal compliance. You’ll also build your expertise in essential HR tools such as Microsoft Suite and HR Information Systems (HRIS) like Workday—tools used by leading HR teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Throughout the program, you’ll apply what you learn through real-world HR scenarios, such as conducting job analyses, developing training programs, managing employee compensation strategies, and creating inclusive company policies. On top of the technical skills, you’ll strengthen your communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities—professional skills that are critical for long-term success in HR.
And you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll work closely with a dedicated career coach who will support you with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies—ensuring you’re ready to pursue roles like HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, Employee Relations Specialist, Talent Acquisition Coordinator, Compensation Coordinator, Benefits Coordinator, Payroll Coordinator, and more.
